About the Angmering Allotment Association

The allotment site in Honey Lane was in existence at least as long ago as the Second World War, and is the last remaining allotment site in the parish of Angmering. In 1990 the Association was formed to run the site on behalf of the Angmering Parish Council.

The site, which is surrounded on all sides by houses, is approximately four acres, and has 120 five-rod plots, the remaining space being taken up by a store and car park. In order to reduce the long waiting list, some of the allotments have been split for use by members new to allotment gardening or who cannot manage a full plot.

There are just over ninety members, and a waiting list in excess of ten. The rent for the plots is due in October (currently £12 per annum for a five-rod plot) and this is usually when plots become available. To date, the waiting list has been cleared during the winter months by reletting the available plots, but demand is such that this may not be the case in the future.
